Janine is a pediatric physiotherapist with over 27 years of experience. She graduated from the University of Toronto’s Physical Therapy Program in 1998 and went on to complete a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science in 2005. Janine worked at SickKids in Toronto for 16 years, with expertise in pediatric oncology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, and transplant care, and has published over 10 research papers on childhood cancer rehabilitation. She was also a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Toronto for 15 years and has provided teaching and consultation internationally.
Since 2016, Janine has focused on in-home pediatric physiotherapy, working with hundreds of infants and young children in Ottawa. In 2024, she rebranded her practice as Ottawa Infant Physio, reflecting her specialized training and whole-body approach to infant care. She is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
She has completed many continuing education courses such as:
- TMR TOTS - a tearless approach to torticollis
- TOTS: Tethered Oral Tissues Specialty Training
- Gillespie Approach - Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT)
- Physiotherapy Assessment of Breastfeeding Related Conditions
as well as many other pediatric-specific courses

Tessa is a pediatric physiotherapist who has supported infants and children in a variety of environments and locations. She graduated from Queen’s University with her Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2024. During school, she pursued every possible opportunity to gain experience in pediatrics. This included completing a placement at a children’s treatment centre in Northern Ontario and volunteering with various organizations, including a national committee for pediatric physiotherapy services in Canada.
She began her career in a clinic, working with all ages including infants presenting with concerns such as torticollis, plagiocephaly, feeding difficulties, and gross motor delays. Over time, she recognized the value of seeing babies in their own homes. She is excited to be a part of the Ottawa Infant Physio team where she has the opportunity to do just that!
Tessa treats infants using a holistic approach where the whole body is considered to help little ones feel and move their best. She is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

Qualifications:
· Must be registered and in good standing as a Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
· Minimum 3 years’ work experience as a physiotherapist
· Experience working in PAEDIATRIC physiotherapy
· Must have your own car, a valid driver’s license and insurance
· Pediatric post-graduate courses such as NDT, CME, TMR-Tots are all a great asset (if not yet taken, be willing to take)
